Keeping art and artists at the center of our district isn't just a goal — it's our reason for being. As the Arts District grows and evolves, we are committed to ensuring that working artists remain visible, valued, and economically supported in our community.
 

We promote Las Vegas area artists through multiple ongoing programs and initiatives, including artist spotlights, gallery partnerships, public mural commissions, consignment opportunities, and community events designed to bring artist work directly to the public. Chalk It Down! is one of our signature ways of doing exactly that.

Why We Created Chalk It Down!

As the Arts District expanded and development accelerated, we recognized a real risk: that the very artists who gave this neighborhood its identity could be priced out or pushed aside. Chalk It Down! was created specifically to counteract that — to give Las Vegas area artists a free, high-visibility platform to showcase their work to thousands of community members, tourists, and local business owners.

Every element of the festival is designed to promote artists and their artwork. There is no entry fee. Juried artists receive a stipend paid by the 18b Las Vegas Artists Fund. The public gets to watch artists create original works live, interact with them directly, and discover new talent they might never have encountered otherwise.
