Join us for spitting fire, a performance of rage and revolt, of violent and ugly refusal to be silent and well behaved.
In the wake of #MeToo, there can be no doubt that our society has a rape culture problem. Victims of sexual misconduct and sexual assault are often revictimized and retraumatized by how they are told to react to what has happened to them.
Not everyone finds healing in forgiveness. Not everyone finds strength in positivity. Not everyone feels they will be a “better” or “stronger” person because of what happened to them.
This showcase is for those who do not find healing in the cultural narrative of how to be a “good victim” and instead are finding their power again by being a “bad one” – loud, unapologetic, angry, messy, and full of violent refusal.
All proceeds from this show go to Haven Craft’s nonprofit efforts to support sexual assault victims through counseling, advocacy, and assistance during crisis.
