The 18b Arts District participates in Gallery Openings and an Art Walk festival on the first Friday of every month – from 6:00pm – 10:00pm. The night before each “First Friday” all our studios are open to give a sneak preview of new artwork – it’s an ideal opportunity to meet our artists without a crowd. “Preview Thursday” has become the unofficial “collector’s night” and runs from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

Free parking is available at the rear of our building just off Charleston Blvd. and Art Way on a little street called Boulder Ave. We are also located just 1 short block from the new 18b LV Arts District Bus Station on Casino Center Drive.

About Visual Artist-Cristina Natsuko Paulos www.cristinapaulos.com Follow me at: https://twitter.com/CPaulosArt Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/cpaulos Biography Visual Artist/Illustrator: Cristina Natsuko Paulos - Artist Biography Cristina Natsuko Paulos is an award-winning artist and animator whose work has appeared in an original animation short for Sesame Street, prestigious galleries such as La Luz De Jesus and Giant Robot, as well as the Cirque du Soleil Contemporary Art Collection. In addition to having her work featured in two books, Garden Of Eye Candy and La Luz de Jesus 25: The Little Gallery That Could, Paulos's work has appeared in publications such as IDN, Hi Fructose, Pop Surrealism and Juxtapoz. Her films have screened at festivals in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and she has collaborated with numerous puppeteers to create toy theatre puppetry performances. A BFA graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, Paulos grew up in the San Fernando Valley but has made Las Vegas her home since 2002. She has been the recipient of several grants from the Nevada Arts Council, including twice winning the NAC's Jackpot Grant and a 2008 Artist Fellowship, as well as a 2005 Sesame Street Workshop Scholarship. As an artist, Paulos incorporates a variety of materials and techniques, including ink, paint, dye, handmade paper, canvas, wood and mixed media. Her work is a mixture of fine art and illustration, primarily focusing on imagery of twinned and mirrored characters, as well as portraiture and imagery and subject matter drawn from life. “My artwork derives from life, juxtaposed with the cartoon world,” says Paulos. “My art is created from the philosophies of drawing. Using these philosophies, my goal is to reveal the marks and capture the articles we often remove from ourselves and in our personal identities whether in cartoon form or from life, of the perception. These would including our flaws, our uncomfortableness and our explorations of our own vulnerabilities when truly, completely naked, apart from our bodies and form. “Using the materials of drawing loose graphite, charcoal, sumi inks, dyes, found material and handmade papers, I hope to create work which show the organic foundations of humanness.”

Boujee With A Brush
Boujee With A Brush

Professional Services

Boujee With A Brush was born because I wanted to expose and inspire others to express themselves through Art Therapy and Art Entertainment. At a very young age, I dealt with depression and needing to find ways to relieve my stress and anxiety, and it wasn’t until I decided to step out on Faith, my love for art and how it can help to relieve all of the stress and anxiety. Painting for me in itself has always been a form of art therapy that helped me. Therefore, if I can somehow be a blessing to others through the services that my business offers, then honestly that is what brings me happiness and purpose.

We are a mobile paint party business. We bring all the supplies and party to you! During each party or event guests can exercise artistic abilities and add their own touches and interpretation to their version of the featured painting.

Buffalo Exchange
Buffalo Exchange

Boutiques

It is the mission of Buffalo Exchange to lead the resale fashion industry, provide a livelihood for its employees, a fair return to its owners and achieve sustainable profitability by: Being the most beneficial place for its customers to buy, sell and trade new and recycled clothing Having a rewarding workplace Acting with integrity Being self-righting Functioning in a socially responsible manner Promoting fun and enjoyment About Us In 1974 Kerstin and Spencer Block opened the first Buffalo Exchange in Tucson, Arizona. Kerstin, hailing from Sweden, thought the word “Buffalo” sounded very American, and since they were introducing the idea of a fashionable clothing “Exchange,” the name was born. In the forty years since, that 450 square foot store near the University of Arizona has blossomed into 49 stores in 20 states. Buffalo Exchange continues to be run by Kerstin and her daughter Rebecca, and is still headquartered in Tucson. After the passing of Spencer Block, Kerstin and Rebecca published a book of his writings, The Way of the Buffalo (available via Amazon, Kindle, NOOK, and in our stores). It shares the funny, poignant, and always down-to-earth insights of a truly alternative entrepreneur whose values keep Buffalo Exchange the vibrant and ever-changing company it is today.

Art GalleriesHands-On

Clay Arts Vegas was started in 2011 as a collaboration amongst artists living and working in the Las Vegas Area to celebrate clay and other three dimensional art. Their studio, gallery, shop, and educational space are all located in the Arts District of Las Vegas. The mission of Clay Arts Vegas is to increase the presence of three dimensional art in the arts district and burgeoning arts culture in Las Vegas. CAV is committed to supporting the professional ceramics community by offering studio and gallery space, and providing professional training of the highest quality. CAV also seeks to strengthen the sense of community by encouraging communication and collaboration among all artists in the Las Vegas area, regardless of medium. Last, CAV works to encourage artistic expression and growth in the entire Las Vegas community by providing a vibrant location for the promotion of three dimensional art and art education. The Victor F Keen Gallery is a part of Clay Arts Vegas (CAV) which showcases our resident and local artists and exposes our community to quality professional work from outside Las Vegas. By carefully curated shows of the highest caliber, CAV offers a venue to both view and purchase art, as well as to educate and broaden the understanding of our patrons. By having an informed and educated gallery staff CAV will help viewers appreciate and understand a broader spectrum of creativity. Our primary focus is on ceramics and sculptural art, also two-dimensional works which compliment it. The gallery is a meeting place for Las Vegas to share and expand the idea of art in the valley.
