The night before each “First Friday” all our studios are open to give a sneak preview of new artwork – it’s an ideal opportunity to meet our artists without a crowd. “Preview Thursday” has become the unofficial “collector’s night” and runs from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

Free parking is available at the rear of our building just off Charleston Blvd. and Art Way on a little street called Boulder Ave. We are also located just 1 short block from the new 18b LV Arts District Bus Station on Casino Center Drive.

Her work is a mixture of fine art and illustration, primarily focusing on imagery of twinned and mirrored characters, as well as portraiture and imagery and subject matter drawn from life. “My artwork derives from life, juxtaposed with the cartoon world,” says Paulos. “My art is created from the philosophies of drawing. Using these philosophies, my goal is to reveal the marks and capture the articles we often remove from ourselves and in our personal identities whether in cartoon form or from life, of the perception. These would including our flaws, our uncomfortableness and our explorations of our own vulnerabilities when truly, completely naked, apart from our bodies and form. “Using the materials of drawing loose graphite, charcoal, sumi inks, dyes, found material and handmade papers, I hope to create work which show the organic foundations of humanness.”

Dray, one of the pioneers of the Las Vegas art scene as both artist and gallery owner, is bringing it back home in more ways than one. After several years away from Las Vegas exploring the “investigative field of experience,” Dray has returned to the heart of 18B with Dray Studio & Gallery, a second-floor space in the Arts Factory Dray is an internationally recognized and published painter best known for his large scale murals, musical themed abstract canvases and colorful portraits of beautiful women. His work has been exhibited at the Majorie Barrick Museum at UNLV and is in the permanent collection of the Hispanic Museum of Nevada. He was one of the first local artists to live and work in the downtown Las Vegas arts district. Highly regarded by veterans of the Vegas visual arts scene for his efforts in helping cultivate the cultural zone that now plays host to monthly First Friday festivals. He has served on the First Friday Advisory Committee, a 15 member board that plans and impliments First Friday, downtown’s monthly event that draws as many as 10,000 visitors at a time to the Arts District. His approach as an artist is fused with an abiding interest in community and inspiring the youth. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA in 1966, Dray is primarily a self-taught painter. His work is influenced by abstract expressionism and street art. Dray began to focus even more on just visual arts when he moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas at the turn of the century. This move marked his decision to devote all of his time to developing his artistic vision as a painter. His subsequent travels to Sri Lanka, Singapore, Atlanta and three years in San Francisco ¬allowed him to gain insight that influenced the direction of his career and honed his artistic vision, which he brought back to Las Vegas recently along with a rejuvenated spirit and gallery.

Joseph Watson Joseph Watson is a graduate of the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. He has established himself as a strong and reliable force in the Las Vegas Arts Community and is quickly making his presence known more broadly. He has artwork is available at Michael’s Arts & Crafts and Hobby Lobby. The Pacific Tile Art Studio also sells Joseph’s arts and murals. The Joseph Watson Collection of art consists of two styles of fine art. The first is the sophisticated décor style. This is his commercially accepted art. It involved subject matter such as ocean life to delicious seafood dishes to African influenced imagery. The surface is swirled with gesso, and then painted with acrylics. The result is a rich balanced piece that would be welcome in any well-designed interior. The second style is more “street.” This style targets the younger market and creates imagery ranging from busy, urban flea market scenes to uncomfortable bus rides. This method is usually a mix between tight pencil sketching combined with the latest digital painting techniques to create some of the most striking scenes. Joseph is usually spotted at the Arts Factory or walking around the massive First Friday event in the Arts District. Hours of operation Wed-Th 12:00pm-4:00pm Saturday 12:00-6:00pm
